There she attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa and earned her BS in Animal Science. She graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Dr. Humphreys started a mixed animal veterinary practice in Iowa right out of vet school working primarily with horses. She also worked for the Iowa and Nebraska Racing Commissions with both horses (Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse, and Standardbred) and Greyhounds on the state regulated racetracks. She has been instrumental in helping to rehome off the track thoroughbreds and was secretary of the Hope After Racing Thoroughbred (H.A.R.T.) which specialized in rehabilitating and rehoming injured thoroughbred race horses. She moved to Ohio in November 2014 and began working for Lincoln Way Animal Hospital in January 2015. Her primary interest is in equine and small animal medicine. She is a member of AQHA, AAEP, AVMA and IaVMA. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, team penning, trail riding, as well as herding with her border collie Bentley. She and her husband have one son who keeps them on their toes at all times.
